Self Care Routines to Detox Liver

Our liver is responsible for a lot within the body! It’s responsible for making bile, converting thyroid hormones, activates enzymes, metabolizes fats, proteins and carbs, stores nutrients and more!

In many of my client protocols, we see a lot of symptoms and root causes come back to the liver. The liver is crucial for so many different functions and processes that it often times can easily become taxed and sluggish. When we start seeing symptoms like hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, constipation, fatigue, brain fog, acne, etc. we can’t ignore that something might be off in the liver. 

It’s important to follow a few simple steps to show your liver a little bit of love and support! And the good news is that these are easy things to add to your daily routine.

  • Eat a raw carrot (or two) each day!

  • Limit alcohol consumption

  • Add in liver support like lemon water or dandelion tea

  • Consider adding in castor oil packs to support the liver

  • Focus on gentle movement daily

  • Add in a visit to the sauna every few days (sweat is key!)

  • Eat within 30 minutes of waking and every 2-3 hours after that (Intermittent fasting can be hard on the liver)

I find that these are easy actions to take to better support the liver, which in turn will help support the entire body!
